Members of the Tongariro Tramping Club salute our esteemed Patron. We shall miss Jessie's tales of adventures in Tongariro National Park and beyond, her deep knowledge our our club and of Mangaiti Hut, her unfailing humour and humility, and her amazing date scones at our Ohakune AGMs! Rest in Peace, Jessie.

1952, at 15 yrs old I was admitted to Raetihi Hospital with bleeding lungs caused by tuburculosis. 2 weeks later, still bleeding, Dr Jordan and colleagues were looking down at me when they were interupted by a booming womans voice entering the ward...."Do something for him...what are you waiting for, him to die?" The very next day I was taken to a special TB ward (Kenny Wd)at Wanganui Hospital, where I spent the next 6 months before being transferred to Pukeora Sanitorium, Waipukurau. I was released 12 months later, Raetihi bound, where I had 2 xrays every year for the next 5 years....all done by Jessie Seaman. Itwas then I discovered who that booming voice belonged to. So without a doubt, that 15yroldboy would have bled to death if Jessie hadn't have come into the ward that morning and boomed at the Dr. THANK YOU JESSIE SEAMAN, FOR MY LIFE

On behalf of my family and I we send heartfelt sympathies for the loss of Jessie. Jessie had a big heart for the community and the Rugby community. If there was an event or fundraising Jessie was there with a plate of something. Jessie will be missed, a mighty tree has fallen in the forest <3
