Jennifer YATES Obituary

YATES, Jennifer (Jenny/Jen). Born 24 December 1944, passed away at home on 4 April 2024 surrounded by family. Much loved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, author and friend. She will be missed dearly. A celebration of her life will take place at Huntly Baptist Church. Monday 8 April, 11am. 4 Riverview Rd.

Very sad to learn of Jenny's passing in this week's King Country News. Quite a few people in Piopio are also very sad to learn the news. She made a real contribution to our community. She loved her coffees at The Fat Pigeon, often staying to write notes for her novels. Condolences to Peter and her entire whanau, Karen Barrett and John Robertson Piopio
