Dear Mrs Fox (Jenny if I may),
I remember you as the bubbly and enthusiastic Year 1 teacher that I had when I was a shy and easily upset young boy of 5 years old back in 1998.
The cherished memories keep flooding into my mind after almost 25 years since I have progressed in my journey of learning to become a PhD student at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
I remember you were a very talented musician that played the guitar and piano at school both in assembly, classroom and singing practice ever since I started playing the violin when I turned 5 years old.
Even after all these years, the most memorable moment that I had with you as a teacher was when you taught us about the Asia-Pacific region, in particular Japan, during Topic (Social Studies) class. I still remember these lessons that you gave to us back then even today as a 30 year old. I also reminisce and still look at the photos of when my classmates and I dressed up as Hebrews and ate Jewish food for our Religious Education Class every now and then.
It is quite sad that you passed away on the exact day of my mother's 63rd birthday, but I know that both you and Mrs Paula Middleton (Year 6 teacher) will have also greeted and said hi to my own beloved mother who abruptly passed away on Friday 28th of October 2022 exactly a month after she was hospitalized at Princess Alexandria Hospital in the south of Brisbane from the complications of lymphangitis carcinomatosis arising from terminal metastatic colorectal cancer that was only detected 3 weeks before her untimely passing.
Nevertheless, I know that you, Paula, my mother and Monsignor Brian Arahill who has also departed from this earthly existence and feasting in the eternal banquet of our Lord God, his son Jesus Christ, hand maiden Mary Queen of Heaven, Angels, Disciples, Saints and all those souls who have departed before us can celebrate eternal life.
May you all rest in peace in heaven and watch over us until we meet again.
I, Michael (Father Patrick and Younger brother William who was also taught by you when he was Year 3 in 2006) send my family's condolences to your family.
