Jeffrey MILLER Obituary

Greetings Yvonne and family

In sorting out some very old bits and pieces recently,I came across a hand out sheet Jeff, only ever know as Mr Miller to me ,had prepared for a class trip we made from Tokoroa intermediate school( room 13) to Matakana Island. We stayed a couple of night with families on the Island.
I decided to google his name and was directed to a funeral notice.
Given the impact he had on our entire intermediate class during the two years he was our teacher, I felt moved to send you this note.
He was a man of rare stature ,physical emotional and social ,he made an incredible impression on me and feel I would like to record my thanks to you and his family.

Dear Yvonne and Family,
So sorry and saddened to hear of Jeff's passing.What a wonderful caring gentleman he was I will never forget the tremendous help Jeff and Yvonne have me when I arrived in Motueka over 30years ago.I was newly widowed with 4 children the time and love gifted to our family was truly amazing Jeff you were one out of the box most honest genuine caring man I ever met. I know you are at peace with your Lord Jesus and I pray for Yvonne humble giving loving person you are and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

It was sad to told of Jeffs passsing but you will have special memories as we have.

My sincere sympathy to Yvonne and all of Jeff's family. I appreciate this is a release after his illness of recent times, and he is now at rest and at peace with the Lord. Many memories remain, as I recall when we first met as Scouts on that memorable trip to England in 1957. More recent yearly contact kept that link alive, and today it is a time of farewell and to recall a committed life well lived.

We were saddened to hear that Jeffrey passed away and we rejoice that today that you will be celebrating his life and that he is now with his Lord.

Jeffrey was part of a wider family of Boy Scouts who travelled to England in 1957. We became an extended family who has shared our lives and experiences over the past 65 years.

We will be thinking of you all this day.
