Jeanette, you were an inspiration to me and many others both in regard to the physical, social and economic environment that you doggedly strived to foster in Aotearoa/NZ and in regard to the exemplary manner in which you conducted yourself at all times. Would that there were more folk in your mould. Thank you for the huge contribution you have made to our country - we will honour you by continuing to further your kaupapa. Chris Livesey

Jeanette was to me the face of the Green Party,The face of Green thinking, of caring for nature and the earth , by action not by just words! She set the example of how to respect nature. By living it herself every day . She belongs to me to the group of outstanding Great Humans.

We worked together on so much for so long. From the first day of the Clark government when, as Minister of Energy, we worked to establish EECA; she wrote the law, I put it through the House, between us we implemented it. Our work on climate change policy or transport policy. Our debates over GE policy. She was forever a graceful person, comprehensively informed, intrepid in debate, unrelenting in pursuit of her goal, scary, supportive, respectful, delightful and usually right. A wonderful contribution to NZ. Pete Hodgson.

Dear Harry, Mark, Jeremy and the whole family - what a shock to lose Jeanette so suddenly. Our thoughts are with you all at this time. She was such an inspiration and will be sadly missed.
Warm hugs, Ben Bell and Gill Brackenbury, Wellington.
