To Baker Jennings Hook Families
I first met Jean Jennings in Early 1976 when I met her Niece Yvonne with whom I have been friends, Husband and Partner in that crime of life for Circa 48 Yrs. ,
We Yvonne and I lived in various places around the world, Settling in Western Australia 35 yrs ago Since then 1990 we would have seen Jean regularly , and one of the highlights of ,my visits to Auckland ,was having an early morning Breakfast with Jean, which over the years were very enjoyable ,
It was always enjoyable to catch up, as Jean was great company

To Jeans family and friends

Jean was a member of our craft group "Oratia Spinning and Craft Group.

We are a group of 50 or so craft women who meet on Monday mornings at Oratia Church Hall.

Jean was a popular and valued member. She was very good at making new members welcome.

She was able to help any of us with knitting ideas and sort out our problems.

Many, many new babies left Waitakere Hospital wrapped in one of Jean´s beautiful machine knitted baby shawls.

Jean was a wise, loving, generous and clever craftswoman.

Our sincere condolences

JENNINGS, Jean Marion (Jean). Born September 07, 1923. Passed away on April 21, 2024. When Dad married Jean we had no idea. No idea such a remarkable woman was joining the Hook family. Jean brought us so much laughter, love, and an always ready ear. She was the perfect addition to our family. We will especially miss her at those outrageous birthday parties - with too many banners, balloons, cake, candles, stars, and explosions. Jean brought 27 years of outstanding apple crumble, and who could forget Jean as the inimitable mermaid. Extra special love from the Hook Family - Pam and Ian, Patricia and Ray, Julia, and James and Jean. Tom and Sophie (and Thea and Corinna), Fred, Harry and Jess. Benjamin and Alex and Curtis (and Henry). Jean, a woman who found time and space for every one of us.
