RIP Jason. I've just read your tribute story. I never met you but followed your career as I'm also from sunny Nelson. Through the book, I realised I went to school with your brother Andy. V8 Supercars and all the supporters feel the gap you have left and my thoughts are with your wife, kids and wider family. Gone way too soon.

Just watched a re-run of your win at Adelaide last year (2011). More poignant now of course. A special win for a special man. You will be sadly missed by all V8 fans

I saw this guy drive, and I later heard he was sick, but going by his interviews I never realised just how sick" In his later interviews when he spoke of his illness and exactly how serious it was he never really let his emotions out, this guy had guts and I really take my hat off to him, and pass on our condolences to his family & friends. RIP mate you gave us a lot of good times and the smile will live on when thinking of you.

To Mrs Richards and kids, Your husband and father showed the most amount of courage and fight that brought me to tears watching him on tv talking about his illness one v8 race that people will never forget. You guys are and should be so proud of the person you had the privilege to now and love. He will never be forgotten.

I met Jason about five years ago at Puapuna race track just outside Christchurch. His dad was having fun on the track in a racing car while Jason was being interviewed by Australian TV. We talked about racing in general, during this time he struck me as a wonderful young man. I'm happy to say I have also seen him racing in Australia. Rest in peace Jason, God Bless and may He be with your family.

A memory we will always hold was talking to Jase at the 2011 Muscle Car Masters on the Friday. He was frank and straight forward and showed the courage of a mountain. He went on that weekend to clean up in the racing and drove the wheels off that A9X.
You will be missed by many who you touched. You were the ultimate champion who will be an inspiration to others for a very long time. We will miss you mate, Thank you very much for the time you spent with us. No doubt your looking at setting lap records where you are now and you will continue to inspire.

Jason, only superlatives can be used to describe this man. I'm just blown away by his strength and courage. He was a true gentleman, one of natures gentle souls. My son and I were priveleged to meet up with him at the yearly kart enduro at Todd rd, always had time for us. My son raced against Jason in " Hughesys Go Kart Challenge" in Port Melbourne in which Jase won comfortably. Were all going to miss Jason but clearly his family are the people that need the most sympathy. God bless and keep Jason, a decent man.
