Mrs Tauva, you left us far to soon. The first time I met you was when I started at ISS back in 2000 and I'm going to graduate next year! I never realised how sick you were because you always seemed so happy. You made my primary school years beautiful, happy and memorable ones. Thank you for everything you've ever done and everyone who's lives you've changed.

So very very sad to hear of the passing of a beautiful lady. Janet was so much more than a colleague - she was a friend. Her openness and warmth, wisdom and sense of fun have left their imprint in my life and I am grateful that our paths crossed. My thoughts and prayers go out to Filipe and the boys.

Janet was a fantastic colleague and a great teacher. I admired the way she managed, in the midst of running a school, to always find time for her family. She was so proud of you all. We are thinking of you.

Our sincerest heartfelt condolences to Janet's family, and her ISS family. Our time at ISS was simply better because of Janet's presence. She was always available and approachable, and willing to go well beyond the call of duty to help students and parents. On a return visit to Suva a couple of years ago she welcomed us back into her familiar office like old friends, and would always make time for people. Very kind, calm and positive, yet also humble, she was a fantastic role model for the whole ISS community. She will be truly missed.
With love and deepest sympathy from the Franklin Family.

Dear Filipe, Robert and Tarquin, Josua, Mo and your partners and to Mrs Hinton, Delwyn and Steven, who I met so recently, the rest of Janet's families and Tila,
You meant the world to Janet and I know she meant the world to you. She was a truly wonderful friend to me and the wisest person I've ever known. I will miss her more than I can say, but will always treasure my memories of our time together at ISS, where she taught me more than anyone else has ever taught me about teaching and children. She was so good at supporting her staff. I will be forever grateful that I got to spend time with Janet recently. We had a wonderful week together in Auckland - lots of talking and laughing. She was always such a positive person. Janet gave so much of herself to people that she will be truly missed, and always remembered in a very special way. May she remain the inspiration she was during her life to the many people she had a profound impact on.
My thoughts are with all of you.

My 11-year-old Esther came home on Monday with the sad news of your journey onward to a better place.
Of the many memories that she has of you, there are two that she continues to fondly recall, whenever she thinks of you.
The first is your gentle hand in settling her in, on her first day at ISS. You ensured that she had a friend for the entire day, and you told her to "have a great day in school ". She's never looked back.
The second is your personal advice to her in the school-hard-court to consider trying out for the school production, because you saw her potential. She did not heed your advice on the first call, but you never gave up in urging her, to explore it.
Now days, I've lost count of the number of school productions she's participated in, a sure sign that you were right. She's ever so grateful that you believed in her, and I'm eternally indebted, for your wise counsel and investment.
Thank you so much Janet. May your soul rest in perfect peace. Ni qai moce toka.

Dear Filipe, Mosese, Robert and Josh. there was alot of pain when I heard about Janet's passing and I still find it hard to accept. She has been part of my life throughout all my years at ISS...our staff netball team, the crazy team debriefings where we drank more than we debriefed. and we did alot of teaching.she understood the need for us as teachers to get the opportuniy to be ourselves and not be teachers for awhile...she also had the heart and soul for the students that we teach here at ISS.They are the reason we all stay teaching here because there will be those moments when they would do something touching that would let you know this is why we stay...Janet was very much like that...I miss her dearly for those were the some of the moments we shared and truly understood why we stay and teach....in her absence I want to thank you all for being part of my children and grandchild's education....for sharing her family with us and for being Janet.....Aere ra taku oa, aere ra...aere ra ...aere ra

It seems not so long ago when we sat together on the bus to school with all the kids talking about what we might be doing with our classes ... but it was probably 1980 or 81 or something. Seems like yesterday. You did International Primary School proud Janet, always looking for what was best for the children. You were a great teacher. My thoughts are with you right now Filipe and your boys, Mosese, Robert and Joshua.

Dear Janet's family, please accept our heartfelt condolences.
Our family will miss her . Whenever we needed her help or advice , she was always ready and willing to. She has been very special to our 11 year old son Baptiste, treating him as her own son and believe me, they have spent some times together during his 5 years of Primary. Like us, he will never forget someone so special like Janet. She is gone too fast unfortunately but she has bravely fought . She even came to ISS to see us two weeks ago to say hallo or goodbye ? Thank you Janet for that, for being able to give you a hug one last time . We will miss you. The Canton family.

I still cant come to terms wt yr passing, Mrs Tavua. It seems like just yesterday u took us for a tour around the school for Nivetha's enrollment in April 2009. U even took yr time to encourage me to be patient wt Suchita as she was throwing tantrums for not wanting to attend Headstart. U were indeed a kind person and someone easy to open up too. A 'mother figure' I would say! Thank U so much for everything! We will always remember u

Silently praying until the final day, to hear your voice again Janet at my classroom door saying, " Rosi can I just come in for a minute? Where did you say that document was again? .....oops, I knew it was there some where on the server" followed by a humorous comment, then that boisterous laugh of yours, with a twinkle in your eye.
I am so grateful for the opportunity to have worked with you and learned from you. I will always remember and cherish your kindness, generosity, humility, and care for people.
