Janet SMITH Obituary

SMITH, Janet Isobel Myra (nee Day). Passed away peacefully following a brave and courageous fight on Sunday 9 August 2015 at Auckland Hospital. Much loved wife of 50 years to Denis and beloved mother to Michelle, Wendie and Jennifer. Adored Pippa to grandchildren Sam, Conor, Sophie and Poppy. Treasured sister to Judy and aunty to Angela, Louise and Fiona. Cherished and valued friend to many. Thank you for your unwavering support, love and devotion to your family. You will be forever in our hearts. A celebration of Jan's life will be held on Friday 14 August 2015 at 11am, at St Philips Church, 92 St Heliers Bay Road, Auckland. In lieu of flowers donations to Dove Hospice, phone 575 4555.

Hi Dennis. It is Lesley (Gick) here. I only learnt of Janet's passing yesterday.I was extremely saddened. She was a very lovely person and although I hadn't seen her for a few years I always thought about her as we were such good friends.My sympathy

I was so sad to hear of Jan's death; my thoughts are with you all. Jan was in my life during Jennifer's kindy years which she shared with Hazel, and also part of the local tennis scene for many years. Although I didn't see her on a regular basis we could always pick up our friendship where we left off, and she was always a loved part of our local community.
