Janet McKEGG Obituary

Growing up in Frazer Road is fill of fond memories. We spent a lot of time at Janet's house playing in the back yard and on the street, those were the times when you left home in the morning and returned before dinner time. Janet alwways welcomed everyone to her home and the kettle was always on. Im so glad I had the chance to visit Janet before she left number 12 and the sheep and paddocks were still there over the back fence. Was welcomed with homemade Christmas Cake, her recipe. A kind strong independent lady with a big heart. Janet and Mum loved their golf and played for many years.. Thinking of you all.

Janet's house was the pivot for the Fraser Rd kids .Lots of fond memories of fun times and just being part of the family atmosphere Janet created .Active kids coming and going but amongst the mayhem Janet's house gave a sense of security and belonging . Endless cups of tea must have been poured when neighbours met there . Janet provided strong shoulders and opinons along with great warmth .I so appreciated Gail and Janet coming to my opening night art exhibition as Janet must have wondered what on earth she was viewing .

MCKEGG, Janet Mary (nee Reid). Passed away peacefully on 17 January 2024 at Elmwood Rest Home with her family by her side. Loved wife of the late Bill; much loved mother and mother-in-law of Jim and Phillipa. Much loved Nan of Tom (Melbourne), and Annie and partner Aaron (Waihi) and great nan to Jimmy, Jack and Mackenzie. The family parties at Fraser Road were legendary and we will miss her wicked sense of humour. Thank you to the caring team at Elmwood. Extra special thanks to her daughter Lynne Meyer for her years of love and support for Janet.
