Jane WHITWELL Obituary

WHITWELL, Jane Lilian (nee Mason). In loving memory. 4 May 1946 Bournemouth England. - 16 April 2025 Glendowie Auckland. It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of our Jane who died peacefully Wednesday evening at St Andrews Village and in the company of her family. Best friend, partner and cherished wife of John over the last 52 years. Jane was a much loved mother of Marieke, Ann, Elizabeth, Peter and Rachel and a proud grandmother of their children. As a mother she was a kind, loving, caring and dedicated. In her role as a home maker she gave strength to her family. Following her life changing stroke the family entrusted Jane's care to St Andrews Village and this became her second home. As a family we extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff and community of St Andrews Village for the loving care and support provided to Jane across the last 12 years of her life. Jane's kind, gentle and courageous spirit will be deeply missed by all that loved her. In accordance with Jane's wishes a private family service has been held and she was buried in the Purewa Cemetery Auckland.

A defining attribute of Jane was her loyalty and devotion to family. A kind, loving, caring and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who gave strength to her whanau.

A bright and gentle personality who is fondly remembered. My sincere condolences to John and his extended family.
