James McIVOR Obituary

McIVOR, James Stewart (Jim). Lieutenant RNZVNR 1701 Squadron, WWII. Formerly of Apiti. On May 28, 2014 at Chiswick Park Rest Home, aged 94 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Nola, much loved father and father- in-law of Peter and Dianne (Palmerston North), Ian and Christine (Palmerston North), Alan and Jenny (Hamilton), Margaret and John Scrimgeour (Te Puke), John and Debbie (Putaturu), Geoff and Cathy (Palmerston North), Tom and Liz (Hamilton), Biz and Gabriel Jens (Hamilton), Barbara and Dennis Kraakman (Hamilton), and Sam and Sarah (Wellington), loved grandad of his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. A celebration of Jim's life will be held at the Feilding Bible Chapel, Warwick Street, Feilding tomorrow Saturday May 31, 2014 at 1pm. An Interment at Bunnythorpe Cemetery will be held at 10am. Special thanks to the staff and residents for their love and care. In lieu of flowers donations to Feilding Order of St. John, P O Box 355, Feilding 4740 would be appreciated and may be left at the service. Jim became a Christian in a time when compromise with truth was the rule in the mainstream churches. Jim was in fellowship with pastor Vic Hart, and we remember them as men uncompromising with the truth. In Bunyan's terms, both Mr Valiant for truth men.
