James MARKS Obituary
MARKS, James Fenimore (Jim). BVSc Hons. Known to all in the Thoroughbred and Racing Circles as "Marksy" On 22nd July 2024, in his 86th year at Palms Lifecare Hospital in Pukekohe, Jim passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Beloved Dad of Cameron, Paul, Mandy (deceased), James, and step-dad to Barb, and Dean. Grandad to Ellie, Isabella, and Daniel, and great grandpa to Ari. Sleep well Jim, no more pain now. You led a full and colourful life and will always be remembered by all who knew and loved you. Your willingness to share your equine knowledge and wisdom is legendary. A private family farewell has been held. A celebration of Jim's life will be held in the near future. date and venue to be confirmed. James was an inspiration to me to persue the veterinary field, albiet not the racing industry for me. I saw practice with him in Matamata as a student, and was educated in many ways! One of my colleagues enjoyed many enjoyable years working with him, working with the horses the way he always wanted to. We met at the odd conference, and acknowledged our 'first cousin once removed' relationship. Rest in Peace now James, after a busy hard working and hard playing life.
