I learned my first concepts of jazz from Jim over 30 yrs ago. It was a short time, less than a year, yet it still stays with me. I still have my notes from his instruction. Now miles away from NZ, in North America, I still remembered his teaching and was thrilled to see him online. He will forever live in those videos. Wonderful teacher. Special musician. He will be missed.

Jim was a beautiful man loved by all: mischievous and a straight talker, when he played music, it was him that I heard. Condolences to the Langabeer family for their great loss. David Colven

Condolences to the family. A man who made the saxophone "talk" and inspired all who learnt from him.
