Jimmy was a great supporter of the sporting codes. We would often run into each other at the major All Blacks games and along Paratai Drive where we both lived. He was a cheeky character full of charm and mischief- which got him involved with affairs of the heart which were extremely ill-thought out. One things for sure he never made mistakes in his business life and that is why he of NZ´s most successful developers to this day.
They don´t make em like they used to - that´s for sure. Rest in peace dear friend.

to follow. May you rest in peace James.

James,
I was saddened to hear of your passing.
I got to know you though the many Building projects with the company I worked for as a project site manager over a decade or more, you certainly left your mark on the Auckland city landscape.
I enjoyed your daily site visits to personally checking on progress, sometimes with your faithful companion at your side.
I enjoyed your smily grin and cheeky humour.
Condolences to James Junior and family.
JAMES you will be missed by many who knew you, RIP

Dear James,
I was deeply saddened to hear of your loss, and my thoughts and heartfelt sympathies are with you .
I had the privilege of working with Mr. Kirkpatrick starting in April 1988 as a Financial Accountant. Over the next 28 years, he not only provided me with the opportunity to progress exponentially in my career but also supported me in reaching the role of CFO, a position I held until late September 2016.
Spending almost a third of your life working with him, he was not just my employer but also a friend and a father figure. He was someone from whom I learned invaluable lessons, both professionally and personally. His influence and guidance were a constant source of inspiration and shaped the course of my career and life in ways words can hardly express.
Mr. Kirkpatrick will always be remembered as a guiding light, a remarkable leader, and a kind soul who touched my life along with my family. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his legacy continue to inspire those who knew him.
With deepest condolences,
Thas Gunathas

My thoughts are with all of the family, as they mourn the loss of a great man. James was generous boss and I learnt so much from working with him. Even today when going past properties that he owned when I worked there I can still recall the property number. Will always remember your smiling eyes. Rest in Love JK.

James, Mr Kirkpatrick; You were a pivotal influence and guiding light in my career and my life. You taught me how to negotiate and close deals from a young age, lessons and skills I learnt from the best are invaluable and tools I use on a daily basis. I will always remember you for your cheeky smile, gentle strength and warmth, firm but caring nature and that wit, oh that wit and clever mind that is only unique to you and unparalleled. You were the best boss a girl could ever wish for, I have looked up to you for most of my adult life and will continue to do so. I will be forever indebted and grateful to you and all your time and knowledge you invested in me and everything you taught me. Thank you for all the smiles shared. You are a true legend and will be so greatly missed by many. Your contribution to the Auckland property industry will always be remembered. You should be so very proud of everything you achieved. One of kind, James; It was my greatest honour to work for you. Condolences to James Junior, and the family. Much love, Christine Light
