A true steadfast gentleman an friend, a man who never shirked his work duties and always volunteered. A true adventure awaits with all those other sky pilots Des enjoy. Mike.

Farewell to the last of my remaining brothers. Desmond will live on in our memory of the time when we grew up together in Ireland.
Des liked to recall how I saved his life when teaching him to swim in the Colebrooke River. He quickly learned to keep the water outside the body. His sense of humor will still live on with us.
While checking out Australia he explored the possibility of immigrating to Canada, but settled eventually for New Zealand.
He did come by to visit while on a trip back to Ireland. While here we visited the 'Pacific National Exhibition' together, where we were entertained by his favourite singer EmmyLou Harris.
May the angles sing your praises evermore Des.
Your big bro. Ron

You have moved from one stage of living to the next and know the mystery of death as we cannot until it is our time, Dessie. You will be missed very much. That you are no longer here in physical form will take time to get used to but the memories that you have gifted while you were, will sustain those who love you. Thank you for the years of friendship: for your lovely Irish sense of humour and that cheeky glint in your blue Irish eyes; your steadfastness and your wonderful loyalty to family and friends. Through Bevie, Cal, Elle & Trav and little Ethan, you live on. Celebrate your new self, dearest Dessie. Slan mo Chara. Love from Sherri
