James CAIRD Obituary

CAIRD, James Gilbert (Jim). Jim was born in Dunedin on November 6,1916 and died peacefully at The Croft Resthome Timaru on October 5, 2018, one month from his 102nd birthday. Dearly loved and loving husband of Ainsley, and father and father in law of Beverley and the late Bill (Melbourne), Margaret and Marcus (Bismarck,USA ), and David (Christchurch). Jim cherished his grandchildren Andrew, Gareth, Jane, and Anne , his seven great grandchildren and his many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the caring staff at The Croft Resthome and to the many with whom he shared his love and friendship. Messages to F1/4 Thomas Street, Timaru 7910. A private cremation has taken place but a Memorial Service will be held at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 19 Rathmore Street Timaru at 11:30 am Mainland Funerals Phone 08009484227

Jim was one in a million. A man of fun, energy, passion, vision and action. I deeply appreciated his dedication to God and his caring for people. His loss is just one more reason to hasten the second coming. Thoughts and prayers are with you Ainsley and the family with the loss of someone so special. Looking forward to that wonderful reunion. Jim was truly an ambassador for Christ, as a friend I will really miss him when I visit but with enjoying the blessed hope we know we shall see him again. My deepest condolences to Ainsley and the family.
