Wonderful times together shared with Bert Hawthorne.

An amazing quiet unassuming New Zealander, I had the pleasure of meeting you several times most notably in Foyles in London where we were both examining the motorsport books. Your words were "you must have a good eye for faces because I am not even famous"... Oh but you were Allan more than you ever knew around the globe. Your long career in international motorsport with Lotus Mclaren and many others proves that its possible for any kid to follow their dream like you did. The Team TUI cars will represent another pround moment for all Kiwi's who have a love for the sport. Maybe that will be your legacy a small team against big operations proving the real talent you pocessed as an Engineer a designer a Mechanic and every job in between, Godspeed Allan the pitroad is rather busy up there now you have many friends to catch up with...........

First meet you in Detroit and our paths crossed off and on since then. A great race engineer. great times were had around the world. My thoughts are with Danielle and the family
