Jack BUTLAND Obituary

BUTLAND, Jack Richard. After a well lived 68 year life, Jack let go of his courageous 20 year battle with cancer and passed quietly into the dawn on 29th of December 2014. Much loved husband to Yvonne, father to Jack, Andrew and Scott, Grandfather to Jack, Jessica and Michael, brother to Debbie and the late Roger, brother in- law to Grant. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed. A service will be held at St Marys in the Holy Trinity Cathedral, 446 Parnell Road, Parnell on Monday 5th January at 10.30am. In lieu of flowers, donations to the SPCA would be welcome.

Jack was a lovely man with a sharp wit, who found joy in all aspects of life. It was a pleasure to get to know him and to call him family for a time. My family send their love and condolences from Canada. He will be missed most of all by his grandson Jack, who shares his love of animals and a good laugh. Good bye Grandpa Jack.

BUTLAND, Jack Richard. With a passion for living and in spite of his pain, Jack desired more time to enjoy his boys, his grandchildren, his DIY projects and rugby as well as looking forward to time at Omaha with us and even Fiji. He fought bravely over 21 years and on the morning of December 29 passed away quietly with his family around him. He was a much adored son of the Late Jack Malfroy and the Late Janette Marie Butland as well as a precious son and friend to Patricia Butland. A very close brother to the Late Roger Butland and much loved brother to Debbie Cathro, a special brother-in-law to Grant. Dearest Uncle to Charlotte, Jonathan, Gabrielle, Lara, Richard and Jack, their partners and Mr Sid. Loved Great Uncle to Joseph, Luca, Tiger, Jack, David and Chelsea. In recent years, much loved Uncle to Lance, Matthew and Louise and Great Uncle to Isabella, Abigail, Reuben and Sammy. You are loved by us all and are truly missed. I love you Bro, your Sis.
