Ivy NEEDHAM Obituary

NEEDHAM, Ivy. Ivy died peacefully early Friday morning, 25 July 2025, in North Shore Hospital accompanied by her family. She was aged 88. We thank the staff from Ward 7 for their dedicated care of Ivy over 5 weeks. Ivy was the deeply loved wife of Fred, and mother of Jeremy, Catherine, Mark and Gareth. Her grandchildren are Morgan, Ryan, Celeste and Michael. Ivy met Fred in Taiping, Malaya while teaching children for the British Army. Fred was serving as a Lieutenant with 2 Bn NZ Regt. Both left the Army and met again in Sydney where they married in 1962. Fred was asked to start a new church with Ivy in 1964 as part of Revival Centres International - that church is now Auckland Christian Assembly in Albany. Ivy was a most loved and wonderful church leader and partner in marriage. She and Fred travelled to many countries preaching the Christian gospel. Ivy's funeral will be held in her own church, the Auckland Christian Assembly, 26 Albany Highway on Saturday 2 August 2025 at 11am.

I clearly remember meeting Ivy over 40 years ago. Dignified, softly spoken, elegant woman with the greeting "hello Poppet". Resting with our Lord and Saviour. Condolences to the family.

Ivy - a kind, gentle and gracious lady.
My first memory was being in Ivy's lounge and asking if I could have a cigarette. She never faltered - of course, I'll get something for you to put the ash in. She was always that gracious and non judgemental and also good fun and supportive.
Thank you Ivy xx
We hope to be with you all on Saturday.
Kindest regards
Mary Mason

In loving memory of a wonderful spiritual person. I have great memories of the times I stayed with you all as a kid and of how Ivy was such a caring person.
