A remarkable and respected professional. Knew him and Leonie professionally for some years...people of their decency and humility are to be cherished , and they were. God speed good doctor.

Dear Leonie,
I was very sad today when I read of Ivan's death in New Zealand Doctor. We met in Auckland in the 80s, before you were married, I think, and remet over the years, usually at Rural Heath conferences. It always seemed that there would be a next time when we could catch up but now we'll have to wait until the great final meeting when we will be forever with the Lord. Please accept my sincere condolences. He was a lovely man and a brother in Christ.

Dear Leonie, Amiria, Jordan and Alastair, my heartfelt sympathies go out to you.
My time working with Ivan, yourself Leonie, Adele and Peter, with the people of Aotea is so dear to me. It is a privilege to have worked alongside you all. Ivan's integrity, faith and commitment to the island and living his best life was, and remains, deeply inspiring to me as I travel through life. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to work with you all in such a special and beautiful place. Sarah

I met Ivan at Remuera Intermediate in 1954. We were classmates and good friends at AGS.
I had great affection for Ivan; he was caring, a deep thinker, very funny, knowlegable, and a good friend.
Thank you Leonie and family for a moving service yesterday; there were 4 of us there from AGS years.
He will be missed by many. Condolences to your family and the wider GB community.

We are so very sorry to hear that Ivan has gone ...

All those who have known Ivan or come across him in so many years we have perhaps even taken the subtle humour ( wry at times ) and clear sighted thinking and of course the trademark puns too ; all for granted , somehow !!

Perhaps one takes much for granted in life , as maybe we in our ways thought Ivan would be always here .... Instead Ivan has quietly slipped away, now ....
Yet we can marvel too .. At what a long and amazing life Ivan has lived ...

So many will sadly miss you Ivan , we will miss you, and had always hoped you had longer here.

But instead we wish everyone in your family sincerest condolences and the very kindest of wishes ,
in this very sad time .

Kindest wishes
From Leanne Forsyth King (born Harwood ) and family

REST PEACEFULLY .....
