COX, Ivan David. Service No. RNZ Navy 6320 Rank: Able Seaman, MBE. 25 March 1927 - 28 November 2021 Much loved husband of the late Avonne Cox. Dear friend and special partner of Nancy Hawks. Cherished father and father-in- law of Marion and Roger; David and Heather; Jenny and Ian; and Haydn. Treasured grandfather of 8 and great grandfather of 18. A private family service has been held, with a memorial service to be held and advised at a later date. I remember David from when I first joined RNZRSA in June 2002, just after National Council that year. He had the smallest office but had a model of HMNZS ACHILLES sitting behind him. He was keen to help all ex-Service people and chaired the welfare committee ensuring that those who needed financial assistance received it.
I will remember him as a kind and gentle man, who could be ferocious if he was against some remit that had been put up at National Council.
