It is with great sadness that I say goodbye to a great friend. Shirley you were always full of life, told great stories and the funniest jokes (which on occasion I just couldn't help but share with others).
I first met Shirley when I was sixteen, she had seen me mowing my stepfathers lawns next door. To which she said to John I want her to mow my lawns. At that point I never knew that 29 years later that Shirley would still be in my/our life. However with my husband and I moving to Australia our contact grew less and less. Even though we grew apart Shirley would still come up in our conversations.
Overtime it was never about mowing the lawns, but the captivating conversations afterwards that drew us in. So it is with great sadness that we say goodbye to a very special Friend. So sorry that we missed the funeral on Saturday. But glad that we were able to leave a farewell message.
Shirley, you will always be in our hearts.
With love Amanda and Greg Sharp

Shirl will be greatly missed by myself, and all of my family, the Raw family.
It's such a deep shame there was a problem with contacting us, as I know every single one of us would have turned up at her funeral to see her off with the love and respect she deserved. It's ironic I had even left a message on her answer phone on Monday , wanting to organise a catch up with her.
I will personally miss our get togethers , our mutual love of animals, cats especially, and the action and humour packed stories we would share about our experiences! She loved a great story , and her hearty laugh will live with me forever. I loved how an appropriate ( sometimes mildly inappropriate!) poem or quote would pop up during a tale, too.
A very intelligent and interesting woman, and one that wouldn't take crap from anyone, either!
Rest peacefully, Shirl,
With love from Anne and Colin Morton, and Stanley, Matilda and the guinea pigs ❤
