Isabel THOMAS Obituary

THOMAS, Isabel Maisie. Passed away peacefully on 18 November, aged 96 years. Loving wife of the late Kevin. Much loved mother of Stephen, Pauline, Helen, Patricia and Bernard, grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother of 10. A celebration of Isabel's (Maisie) life will be held at the Selwyn Village Chapel, 43 Target Street, Point Chevalier on Friday 22 November at 11.00 am.

Mrs Thomas of St Michaels Ave (later to become Maisie when I grew up) was such a lovely caring person to me. When I was 13 my mother died and then a couple of years my father died, Maisie was very kind and loving towards me. She praised me when I narrowly passed School Cert (her daughter got really high marks). While I was surprised she thought I did well, it made me feel worthy.
We kept in touch over the years when I went to the UK and then to Dunedin. It was so good to see her every now and then. Even last week she was texting me to say that she hoped my house sale was going well.
My heart is broken, I will miss her lots.
