Irene HAM Obituary

HAM, Irene Phyllis (nee Vann). Passed away peacefully on 20 July 2025 in New Plymouth, aged 80 years. Loving and devoted wife to Bob for 57 years and 11 months. Treasured mother of Catherine and Sheryl, and mother-in-law of Andrew. Adored and fun grandma of Hadley and Nathan. Loving sister of Gwen (Townsville), Pam (deceased) and John (deceased). Loving sister-in-law of Elsie and Eddie, and Gerry, and to others gone before. Loving Aunty of many nieces and nephews and their families. And missed by her four-legged friend Bonnie. Forever in our hearts, as we move forward one day at a time. Service to be held Friday 25 July 2025, 10.30am at The Chapel of W. Abraham, 366 Devon Street East, New Plymouth.

In Loving Memory of Irene Phyllis Ham

Irene was like a second mother to me - always there with a listening ear and the kind of advice that could calm even the roughest storms. Her words brought comfort, and her presence brought peace.

She was an inspiring mother to Sheryl and Catherine, and a devoted wife to Bob. I will never forget the incredible Christmas feasts she made - something I still miss deeply to this day.

What I´ll miss most is your humour, Irene. The way you could light up a moment with a simple glance or comment. You had a rare gift for making people feel understood and loved.

I only hope to replicate the kind of relationship you had with your girls in my own journey as a mum. You truly showed us what unconditional love looks like.

May you rest peacefully and in love. Don´t worry - I´ll always be here for your soulmate Sheryl.
