Ian MCLAREN Obituary

MCLAREN, Ian Thomas. Sadly passed away after a long illness in Tasmania on 9 October 2023 aged 76. Loved father of Fiona (Tasmania) and Angus (New York) and loved brother of Ross (N.Z) and Anne (Australia) A private family cremation was held in Tasmania. We will miss his smiling face and positive attitude to life.

My sole brother. Born the same day in March 1947 and didn't meet until we were in our forties. Shared the same love of sailing and sailed well in excess of a couple of 1000Nm together. "Claim to fame". We won the Auckland to Suva yacht race by a whooping 19 hours, a feat unlikely to be matched ever again.
We were very much sole brothers. See you soon on the other side "Stevo"
