McGECHIE, Ian Christopher. Born 12 November 1940 and passed away unexpectedly on 17 November 2024 at Middlemore Hospital. Very dearly loved husband of Glenis, precious father of Richard and Angela (Manurewa), Robyn (Western Springs) and Michael and Cheryl (London). Cherished Pops to Sarah and Hayden, Robert, Emily and Dylan, Benjamin, Joshua, Oliver, Rosa, Elizabeth, Theo, Jessica, Zara, and Hector. Forever in our heart's. A service for Ian is to be held at St John's Presbyterian Church, 120 Great South Road, Papatoetoe on Saturday 30 November at 11am. So sorry to hear of the passing of dear Ian. He was a giant in our community, especially in Papatoetoe. Ian was always kind and generous and always greeted me with warmth. Ian was a role model for all of us, a man I respected and looked up to. My sincere condolences to his lovely wife Glenis and their entire whanau. Moe mai ra e te rangatira.
