I remember Ian, and brother Colin, as being among the first to welcome me as an 8 year old when I first moved to Auckland. We attended primary, intermediate and secondary schools together but I lost contact with him when he changed schools and never met up with him again. However, in this small world, I kept up with his extraordinarily successful progress in the logistics industry through his friendship with my uncle Mike Bearman. Ian is remembered as a kind and fun loving young guy. My sincere sympathies to his family and relatives. Peter Ambler

Ian, thank you for your quiet wisdom, your willingness to support and never failing generosity. A truly great Rotarian. While our loss is profound, so are our memories.

Ian was a true gentleman who gave to so many in various ways and we cherish the memories of happy times together. Unfortunately, we are unable to attend his memorial service but send our love to Marlene, Craig, Katrina and families and also Russell, Kirsten and Kelvin and his step grandchildren.
