WARNER, Hugh David (Dave). Regtl No. 715596, 23rd Intake National CMT - Army Signals Corps. On Thursday 30 June 2011, in Whakatane after a long illness borne with good humor but annoyance at having to give up pastimes such as socializing and bowls; aged 72 . Only son of Hugh and Phyllis (both deceased). Ex husband of Jill for 30 years, but still very good friends. Loved father of Tara (Russia), Robert and Joanne (Perth, WA), Shelley and Duncan McCarthy, Celeste (Hamilton), Johanna- Marie and Tim Shortt-Smith (Wellington), James, Melinda and Kimberley (Hamilton). Special granddad of Spencer and Riley. Ministerial Press Secretary and Journalist for 47 years, including Whakatane Beacon 1989 - 2001; Eastern Bay News 2001 - 2004. A celebration of Dave's life will be held in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Hinemoa Street, Whakatane on Tuesday 5 July at 11am followed by a private cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to Hospice, PO Box 275, Whakatane or may be left at the service. Communications please to the Warner Family, C/- PO Box 2070, Whakatane.
