Hugh GAW Obituary

GAW, Hugh Kennedy. Passed peacefully on February 2nd at Ngaio Marsh Rest Home, Christchurch, in his 72nd year. Much loved brother of Kerry, Euan and Bronwyn. Dearly loved uncle and great uncle to all his nieces and nephews. Sincere thanks to Dr Michael Ozimek and all the staff at Ngaio Marsh and Nurse Maude for their dedicated care. A funeral service for Hugh will be held at the John Rhind Chapel, entry from London and Whitmore streets, Christchurch, on Friday February 8th at 1pm. We met in Libya in 2002 and instantly became friends. We enjoyed your brief visit to our house on your visit to Britain.It was good to stay in touch over all these years. Sadly despite all those e.mails in which we aimed to sort out the world it's still a mess.We will always remember you for your courage in standing up for your beliefs and your quiet sense of humour. We will continue the struggle for a more just world!
