Hilda BEAN Obituary

BEAN, Hilda Marjorie (Marj) Died peacefully in her sleep after a short illness, at St John's Hospital, Epsom, aged 89. Adored wife of the late Alex, cherished mother of Derek, Heather and Murray, and loved mother-in-law of Linda, beloved Nan of Stacy and Laureen, Cathy and Andrew, Debbie and Jim, Janet and Michael, Andrew and Chus, Rob and Natalie, Chris and Monique, Steph, and the late Becky; great-grandmother of Emma and Thomas, Ella, Mereana, Chloe and Finn. "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." A service of thanksgiving will be held for Marj's life at the Hillsborough Baptist Church, 179 Hillsborough Road, Auckland, on Thursday 7 July at 11.30 a.m, followed by interment. We send our loving sympathy to the family upon the loss of their mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Marjorie was such a lovely lady, and we have fond memories of her prepared Sunday lunches and a full table of young people there to eat it!

Dear Derek, Heather, Murray and Linda and extended families.
I am sorry I could not be present today to celebrate your mother's life. I did not know Marjorie closely but have strong impressions of her as a quiet caring woman. We spent some time in the 20 Budock Road family home in 1963 and our Derek came home from National Women's Hospital to there. It was from your family we got the idea of the name 'Derek'. May you have some precious memories to savour during this time.
