I have only just discovered this sad news. I have fond memories of Hilary when we were both young on the voyage out from the UK and at Monck's Spur. Every blessing to her family.

My memories of Hilary, along with her brother Alastair and her parents, go back to Monck's Spur, Redcliffs, where I also lived. We have kept in touch over the years, mainly by 'phone, I will miss her humour and great love of life, which made our chats so enjoyable.

I am so sorry to hear the sad news.
I am away from Auckland now so I would like to send my condolences to Hilary's family.
Hilary was very kind and generous to me.
While we were walking together she explained all kinds of flowers and named them. She also gave some plants to me and they are growing well in my garden.
They have lovely white flowers. Whenever I see them I will think of my dear friend's lovely smiles!!!
Thank you so much.
I love you and miss you.
The peace and comfort of God be with you and your loved ones.
Kind regards,
Helen Hann.

Hilary will be a friend forever, and I loved her humour and the infectious laugh, and endless stories to share.
