Henry PURDY Obituary

PURDY, Henry Gordon. Aged 91 years. Peacefully on Saturday 27th September, in Tauranga. Loved son of the late Harry and Lily Purdy (Papakura), soulmate of Georgie (deceased), dearly loved father of Mark and Rata, Michael and Alison and families, cherished brother and friend of the late Graham Purdy. He was a much loved and highly respected, brother-in-law of Gwenda, uncle of Kerianne and Rhys Ogden, Ian and Emily, Rob and Kirsten, and families. The Chief Executive of New Zealand Railways Corporation 1982 - 87. Proudly a lifelong railways' man. Gordon was a true gentleman with a genuine love of people, thoughtful and kind, with a ready laugh. He will be sadly missed. A celebration of Gordon's life will be held at Hillsdene Chapel, 143 Thirteenth Ave, Tauranga at 11am, Thursday 9th October 2025.
