Helen was a special friend and colleague in the Advisory Services in Rotorua. Always full of fun with her quick wit, twinkle in her eye and ready with another joke. We will miss her cheerful personality. Rest easy dear Helen. Brian and Kate Gore Rotorua

I am so saddened to hear of Helen's passing - it was always a day full of laughs and pranks when Helen was around. All of us never knew what was coming next at Waipa School! She taught me so much, drove me crazy with her professionalism but was always there for you. Rest easy, special lady.

Bob and I were so sorry to hear of Helen's sudden passing she was such a funny happy friend. I was the Office Administrator for Reading Recovery in Napier and met Helen through Deb Boerner who came to relieve at RR and we had many fun dinners together. Helen will be sadly missed by all the family and her friends and colleagues.

We trained as Reading Recovery Tutors in 1991 and have been firm friends ever since. We shared so much of our lives together and Helen was a loyal, funny and wonderful companion on travels and in life's ups and downs. She was hard-working, professional and very caring. In the late 90s we had a hilarious episode when we couldn't get past a hen running down the middle of the road and have had an ongoing chook gag going ever since. I am so sad she has gone and will not forget her. May great big golden chooks fly you to your rest dear Hellies. Love, Robin.
