Hello Harry
So sorry to have missed seeing you with Dave Woods.
Happy memories of commissioning and then maintaining Pacific Steel´s hi-tech rod mill.
Will look forward to that catch up on the other side - if I behave!
Wishing you and yours all the very best,
Kindest regards
Ian Greig

My last memory of Harry was at Middlemore Hospital some 7 years or so ago when the wife was in there and happened to be on the Same floor as Harry. His antics prevailed then as he did at Pacific Steel. He was discharged during the wife´s stay and I had the honour of taking him home.It was a real honour to have known Harry

I experienced great sadness today upon reading the Notice in the Herald about Harry passing.
I worked with Harry at Pacific Steel Ltd from 1975 to 1978 and thoroughly enjoyed working alongside Harry. We became good friends and the highlight was us going on a small plane flight from Ardmore to Queenstown for the purpose of walking the Routeburn Track in about 1977. Harry had never been to Queenstown and after arriving at night in Queenstown and sleeping with our group in a Motel I will always remember his reaction upon opening the motel curtains the next morning and seeing the splendour of "The Remarkables" mountain range.
He was overwhelmed.
When I rang Harry a year or so ago we both remembered this moment of pure joy. We of course enjoyed each others company during the Routeburn walk. We also had a bit of a reunion a year or two later when he joined me and my family on a small plane day-trip to Great Barrier. Rest in peace Harry and make sure you continue to enjoy the mountains,
