Harold GRIFFITHS Obituary

GRIFFITHS, Harold Richards (Hal). Born February 27, 1945. Passed away on December 21, 2024. My darling Hal slipped away with the summer solstice on his final flight in his trusty 747 or beloved Catalina. A long battle fought with courage, stoicism and often black humour. Soulmate of Sue, father of Jason (deceased), much loved brother of Tom (deceased), Colleen and Joy. He loved, encouraged and inspired so many all around the world. Will be deeply missed and never forgotten. A memorial occasion will be held in Whitianga in early March.

To Hal´s family, my deepest sympathy and sincere condolences. Hal (Henry as I knew him in Qantas) was a friend and colleague with whom I spent many long sectors and fabulous days in slips ports. Away from Qantas, we remained friends and enjoyed lots of wonderful days fly fishing in the lower Snowies. Jason lived with us and our extended family for several years. The news of Hal´s passing, and Jason, has left me deeply saddened. Ossie Miller and family.
