Gwendolyn KAY Obituary

KAY, Gwendolyn Joy. Born April 10 1932, died December 20 2023 at Kenderdine Park, Papatoetoe, aged 91. Much loved daughter of Mick and Bertha Kay, sister of the late Irwin, sister-in-law of Coral, aunt of Simon, Delwyn and Janina, and great- aunt to eight. Respected, admired and loved friend of many, particularly from her 30-plus years of service with OMF in Thailand and more recently the Mangere East Baptist Church. Gwen led an extraordinary and inspirational life of service, routinely putting others before herself. "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord for ever." In accordance with Gwen's wishes, a private cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held in January. All communication to Simon Kay, 23 Coates Road, Papatoetoe, or [email protected].

What fond memories I have of Gwen. It was always exciting when she was home from Thailand whenever we were at the farm.
She visited us in Adelaide and I in turn visited her in her home at Papatoetoe, she loved the paddock out her back-window from the sunroom it reminded her of the farm. Gwen kept the family in touch. With love always Dianne and family

Precious memories over many years. She was like one of the family and will be sadly missed. Home for Christmas.

Gwen was my Mum's youngest cousin, but closer to me in age. After she and I returned to NZ we kept in touch, firstly by visits and letters and recently by email. Gwen valued family.

I remember Gwen who was a student in the Bible Training Institute in 1957-1958 and I spent a year with her in 1958.She was a quiet achiever who then went to Thailand with OMF.and was loved by the people. Deepest sympathies to her family, for she had ill health in later life. Selwyn Hooker
