So sad to read this in the NZ Herald. Have known Grant and his sister since they were children. Friend of my late husband, He phoned me recently and would visit next time he was in Thames. My condolences to his family.

Our thoughts are with you Shirley as you adjust to life without Grant. His presence created a unique, playful and mischievous atmosphere. Although his breadth and depth of knowledge was considerable, he wasn't a "know-it-all". I personally benefited and learned a lot from our relationship over the years. Great guy to work with and hang out with. We had some fun adventures and I'll miss the big fella. With love and respect from Rob & Kristine Milne.
