WHYTE, Graheme David. On Tuesday 6th March 2018, peacefully in his sleep, in his 90th year. Dearly loved husband of Ivy for 63 years. Loved and respected father and father in law of David and Karen, Allan and Ann. Cherished Granddad of Scott and Vanessa, Michelle and Steve, Kristi, Peter and Julia. Great Granddad to Eli. A celebration of Graheme's life will be held in the Chapel of Willetts Funeral Services Ltd, 21 King Street, Whakatane on Friday 9th March at 1:30pm followed by a private cremation. In lieu of flowers donation would be appreciated to EBOP Hospice PO Box 275, Whakatane, or maybe left at the service. Communications please to the Whyte Family, C/- PO Box 2070, Whakatane.

Mr & Mrs Whyte were great friends with my mum & Dad (Allan & Elva Heavey) 1950's Edgecumbe. They remained in contact throughout the decades.
I remember David's sand-pit very well. We played there while our parents had a natter. Such fond memories.

Dear Ivy, I don't what happened to the note I wrote on this site before, it just disappeared so if I repeat myself please forgive me. Please share my condolences with Allan and David and yourself. I am the person I am today because of the influence both of you had on my life. I was too scared to ever vote Labour after I met Graheme. Alison & I celebrate 34 years of marriage this year and the longevity of that is due in part to the example that you and Graheme were to us. Please accept my apologies for not making it to the funeral today, I am not well enough at the moment to travel. Love to you all.
