Graham was a good friend of my Dad the late Frank Atkinson, from the mid-1960s when Graham trained his police dog at the Auckland Showgrounds in Epsom, where my Dad was Secretary for many years. They were also regular race-goers at Alexandra Park through the 1970s. I remember Graham as a fine man. Rest in peace, Graham.

To think we used to associate with one another on that Alexander Stand on a Friday night without realizing his true background until spotted on Balmoral Road driving a 'paddy-wagon' certainly reflected a quiet and most humble policeman. A 'Police Five Badge' coming your way exponentially. RIP Graham Bracey.

GRB you were a legend and I was proud to be one of 'Braceys Boys'. Your dog handling skills were truly impressive and you were up there with the likes of Colin Guppy and Alan Symes. Your operational record with 'Duke' was second to none. For several years during the 1950/60's, you were 'The Auckland Dog Section'. I am proud to have known you and served under you. Rest in peace Brace; you have earned it.

Sergeant Graham Reeves Bracey QSM - retired.
Farewell to one of the pioneers who paved the way for those of us who now serve. A highly respected officer and admired leader and trainer who will always be remembered. Our deepest sympathy is extended to Graham's family and loved ones.

My condolences to Paul, Robyn. As an impressionable 21 year old flatting in Auckland I was in awe of Graham and Duke. A family connection led to a friendship which in turn resulted in my joining the Police in 1970, a great decision heavily influenced by Graham. Thanks for that life changing advice Graham. Farewell
