Gordon and Jocelyn have had so many connections to our family over the years. Firstly, Gordon was a friend of our Dad, Ross, at med school and Best Man at Mum (Helena) and Dad´s wedding. Later Gordon was our church Elder, and as such had to visit us at home. Jocelyn became a valued colleague of Mum´s at Diocesan school. I even had the privilege of watching Gordon do a gastroscopy when I was training as a Dietitian in Auckland. He was always so gracious and kind. Gordon and Jocelyn have been great family friends and hold a special place in our hearts. My condolences to Jocelyn and family. Thinking of you and praying for you at this time. I´m so sorry I can´t attend the funeral. Elizabeth Reynolds ( nee Howie)

We recall with fondness Gordon who first introduced us to the game "Rummikub" and warned Diane that Bridge was a game not suitable to Diane, as talking was frowned upon!
We will remember him as a ,kindly and affable stalwart of the Opoutere community and its ideals.A quiet Opoutere sage.
Our sincere condolences and regard for Jocelyn , Margo and family .

Gordon and Jocelyn were one of the first of our lovely neighbours in Opoutere to come over and welcome us into their community. Gordon shared his love of birds and sea life with us and we felt at home straight away. Our love and sincere condolences to Jocelyn and all the Nicholson´s from Neil and Cathy and family.

Dr Nicholson lectured me at Med School in the mid 80s. He was a superb teacher, a true gentleman, and his compassion, integrity and empathy was extraordinary. Although I went on to become an Orthopaedic Surgeon, he was one of the towering figures in the Department of Medicine, along with Sir John Scott and Derek North that inspired all of us. Rest in peace GI.
