After reading all the wonderful comments about Gordon, and hearing so much about him while visiting Dan and Jen (my daughter, and hopefully, future son-in-law); I feel like I knew him. I realize how much I missed out by never having the pleasure of actually meeting him. I truly thank Gordon, and the entire family with all my heart for helping Dan so much, for welcoming Jen so warmly and making her feel like part of your amazing family. I was at ease knowing my baby girl, so far away from home, had all of you in her life. I hear Gordon was a strong man and fought hard to beat this horrible disease. I want you all to know you are in my prayers; and although he was taken from you way too soon, the memories will stay in your hearts forever. My sincere condolences to Gordon's family and everyone who was lucky enough to be touched by this man. He has finally been healed, relieved of his pain, and is at peace...

So sad to hear of Gordie's passing. Love to his family,Barbara and his girls. To Lizzie and all Gordies siblings , a page has turned but the book reads on........the story unfolding in magical new adventures, sunlight on Slipper, sparkels on water but the earthly chuckle and glint in his eye lives on in all that is shared in your family. Vibrant as it is, rich in the colours of lofty peaks and dark valleys of despair, yet always that hidden thread lovingly crafted inside holds fast, on and on in the constant breath of time.
There is no unloving Love.

Its so devastating to hear of your passing gordon. I treasure many memories of our days at ardmore and on slipper in the 70s. My thoughts go out to your family and friends who will no longer enjoy your presence, but memories of a beautiful person will remain with all who knew you and loved you. Alvan and pamela treweek.

Barbara, we are so very, very sad to hear of Gordon's passing. We have great memories of meeting you both at Sandra's wedding, of Slipper Island island mad evenings in London with Gordan and assorted crew when they were passing through - 12 hours bottle to throttle! He also visited us here in Eastbourne several times. Barbara, I remember our flight to slipper with 9 month old Mitchie all those years ago and the really special time I had with you, Gordy and Abe - fishing, scuba diving etc etc. All our love to you and the family. He was a truly special man who brought so much fun to everything he did.

We will miss you greatly. We had some great times on the island , over the past 4 yrs . - chasing sheep , cows , horses,
Decorating, repairing - anything to help Gordon & family. Always had a smile & a great sense of humour - except the day he almost lost the Barge in one of the many cyclones !!! oh and when the generator blew up !!!

NEEDHAM, Gordon. A special brother, we shared the love of aviation and 185s, farming, bulldozers and diggers, adventure and ski trips, the ocean, boating, water skiing, fishing and diving. Thanks for my first flying lesson taxiing the 172 at Slipper and the many lessons that followed. I will carry on the projects we planned at Slipper as you asked me to, but the gap will be huge. The time we spent together during my trips back to NZ to see you over the last six months, was precious. Forever Young. Fly Free Gordy. Love Jamie and Susanne

NEEDHAM, Gordon Bruce. Gordon, many thanks for your enthusiasm, incredible hospitality and all the adventures you gave us. Those times are unforgettable and have shaped my life since, not least skiing which you introduced me to. You have left behind an absolutely gorgeous family who I know will always appreciate the unconditional love that you gave them. Cheers mate, and darn, Rod.
