Gordon GRIGOR Obituary

GRIGOR, Gordon William. The family would like to advise that Gordon passed away peacefully on 26th January 2026 with his sister by his side. Gordon was 67 yrs old and the much loved only brother of Mary, beloved son of Jackie and adored uncle of Lauren and Samuel. He was a supremely kind and clever man and he died after an 18 month battle with cancer. He fought hard, rarely complained and felt there were always people worse off than him. Our thanks to the ACH Oncology team for all their support, the care of the staff at CHT St John's and those at West Auckland and Mercy Hospice services, especially their volunteers whose kindness to us all was extraordinary. In lieu of flowers, we request any donations in memory of Gordie be made to either of these Hospice. We will be having a small family and friends celebration for Gordon next month in Auckland and if you would like to be kept informed, please get in touch at [email protected]

hi, I hope I have the right Gordon - lived in Gisborne in the mid 80s and was involved with Gisborne Car Club? i always wondered about him. He was a cool guy and welcoming - I enjoyed talking cars and music at his little cottage. Sad to hear of his passing.

Gordon, you were such a wonderful patient to meet and chat with! Thank you for all of your music recommendations to me, for staying and chatting at the desk. You would brighten my day when you came in for appointments. I am so sorry to hear of your passing. I'll play Ren Gill (one of my favourite artist recommendations from you) in your memory.
