Glen BOWMAR Obituary

BOWMAR, Glen Clifford. Born Mangawhai 4 June 1936; died Mangawhai 12 February 2025. Wonderful father to Anne and Kelly, loving Grandpa to Tayla, Jayden, Juliet, Rosie, Charlotte and Elizabeth. Father-in-law to Simon and Zane. A familiar face on the dog walking beaches and the Four Square at Wood Street. We love you, Dad. That was a very sudden and unexpected journey to heaven you made last night. Thank you for being our Dad and loving us unconditionally through all life's adventures. We will hold you dear in our hearts. You always made sure we knew you loved us dearly and we felt it always. Your beautiful Bev has been waiting for you, so give her hugs from us. We will bring you home to your beautiful Mangawhai. You are one of a kind. Glen will be farewelled from his home on Saturday March 1st at 11am. Aroha Funerals 09 5270266

Glen (and Bev) were long time friends and neighbours (Tara Rd) of Heather and Dave Small. Glen always had a good yarn to tell and a helping hand to lend. He was very generous with his knowledge of the best fishing spots and where to get pipi´s. He and Dad enjoyed going fishing and generally spending time together. You will be missed Glen...

Glen

Thank you for many things,
being a friend and poppa Bowmar to my girls,

Always with a story and a joke to share.
The prankster and the early riser,
A white wine or two and a generous heart.
The fisherman with many stories
Fishing spots without GPS,
Soft-bait vs traditional sinkers and trevally

Smoked Mullet and netting under the bridge,
Pipi´s collected from the low tide,
Whitebait from farmers streams.

You were a hunter and collector
The surveyor and business man.
Handy on the excavator and fast on the spade

President of the Mangawhai social club and dog owners association on the morning walk.

It gives us comfort that you will now be back with Bev who has been patiently waiting -don´t mention the Ute for a few days!

We will miss you but never forget you
