Glen (and Bev) were long time friends and neighbours (Tara Rd) of Heather and Dave Small. Glen always had a good yarn to tell and a helping hand to lend. He was very generous with his knowledge of the best fishing spots and where to get pipi´s. He and Dad enjoyed going fishing and generally spending time together. You will be missed Glen...

Glen
Thank you for many things,
being a friend and poppa Bowmar to my girls,
Always with a story and a joke to share.
The prankster and the early riser,
A white wine or two and a generous heart.
The fisherman with many stories
Fishing spots without GPS,
Soft-bait vs traditional sinkers and trevally
Smoked Mullet and netting under the bridge,
Pipi´s collected from the low tide,
Whitebait from farmers streams.
You were a hunter and collector
The surveyor and business man.
Handy on the excavator and fast on the spade
President of the Mangawhai social club and dog owners association on the morning walk.
It gives us comfort that you will now be back with Bev who has been patiently waiting -don´t mention the Ute for a few days!
We will miss you but never forget you

BOWMAR, Glen (Bro). Sadly and unexpectedly 12th February 2025 Surveyor, Mullet Boat Sailor, Drainlayer, Story Teller. Long time and respected mate and confidant of Dave and Jan King. Great times will always be remembered, we dodged many bullets along the journey. Ni Sa Moce Turanga.
