I was saddened to learn of Gillian's passing. I worked with her at the Ministry of Education. Lovely lady. Always spoke of her family with love. Fly high with the angels my friend. There will be celebrations with the Angels in heaven.

I would like to pass my condolences onto Gilly's family. She was an amazing lady, always beautifully dressed, and available to help whenever needed. I worked with Gilly for about 10 years at the Ministry of Education, she was so proud of her family, her son the designer, was so loved by Gilly (as she called herself and told me her grandchildren called her Gilly). She is a beautiful soul, go in peace sweetheart, you are going to a beautiful place, where you will be treasured.

Mrs Melville was my science teacher at Palmerston North Girls High back in 1979. RIP Mrs Melville.

I am very sad to learn of Mrs Melville's passing. As an Iona old girl I have many fond memories of her (and her husband) and the way she cared for us students. She certainly taught us that anything was possible for a woman in the world and to go out and grab every opportunity. My condolences to her family.

Deepest sympathy for the loss of such a lovely lady. Special memories of working at Iona College and the wonderful way Gilian led as principal with support from Trevor. A great role model.
