TIME TO SAY GOODBYE.
The music of Vivaldi filled the venue. Donn, your coffin was slowly been carried down the aisle by your 5 Son's and daughter. All dressed in Rugby tops with the words *Donn one* on the back . Your coffin was placed in front of the stage A very tasteful coffin I thought, of which the top was adorned with the most exquisite arrangement of delicate roses . The time came for your 5 precious son's and daughter to ascend the stage . There was an emotional out pouring of memories, love, grief, and loss from each one of them for you Donn. As each emotion cascaded down onto your coffin I half imagined the lid of your coffin rising and you sitting up saying "I can't leave you all my darling one's"
But the lid remained closed and your service continued. I will carry my love and my memories of you in my heart. Until we meet again.

Gerard Donn de Silva , my memory of my caring eldest brother Donn who toiled in our large vege garden as a young man providing our family with delicious vegetables and planting numerous fruit trees with his loving dog Nipper at his side. In his latter years we had many a precious conversation on the phone. Always love you bro and will catch up with you one day and chat forever n ever. To all of Donn' s dear family all of you are in our loving thoughts n prayers. Nicolette n Neville

DE SILVA, Gerard Donn. Passed peacefully at home on Tuesday night in the presence of his devoted wife Marieke, his children, and family members. DONN1: You epitomised the '1' - you guided each and every one of us beautifully as only the head of our clan could do. Because of your love, wisdom, and acuity, we can carry your legacy forward. Sincere thanks to all of the medical people who have cared for Donn over recent years, especially Drs. Samad Iwaz, Madhu Koya, and Simon Fu. Time now to Rest in Peace darling Donn.
