Dear Gerry,
What a shock. So many wonderful memories and stories since we were 13 years old at boarding school, to supposedly growing up studying at Uni, flatting together, having children and working. You were a unique human who made the world a better place and those that knew you better people. How you will be missed by your family but they I am sure will also have lots of joyous memories and amusing stories to remember you. Remembered with love for your passion for life, social justice and for being sunshine in all our lives. Peter and Darine Michael, Adelaide, Australia

So much love to you Gerry. I will miss you so much. As a friend, as a fellow advocate for the workers of New Zealand, as the fantastic person you were.

Very sad to hear youve gone Gerry. You were such a staunch, wise, savvy and caring advocate for us. Thank you to all your family members for sharing you with us, as you so often went beyond work hours. Sue Maturin - Dunedin

Farewell Gerry. You were the most gracious, generous, wise and caring friend - and now we can add courageous and brave to the long list of your attributes! And we could always rely on you for a diagnosis from Dr Google or your Medical Encyclopedia for our ailments! I can still hear your laugh and amusement when you told stories - which were often a little embellished for our amusement. And when I asked you what were we going to do without you - you simply said "remember me fondly". I think that is a given Gerry. We will miss you in our lives our darling. Love always Barbara Moses
