Gerald SANDERSON Obituary

SANDERSON, Gerald Russell (Russell). (HKSDB No 66679) On Wednesday, 17 June 2015 at 1.20pm in his 77th year. A mariner and navigator from a vanished era, and a previous employee with the BOPEPB, now plotting new courses in the skies above. Only son of the late Neville and Frances, and brother to Lucy (d), Linley Janett (d) and Christine McNeil. Truly blessed father of Faye and Alison and devoted Gung Gung to Noah and Marco. A service will be held at the White Rose Chapel, 75 Cook Street, Hamilton on Wednesday 24th June 2015 at 10.30am, followed by cremation. In lieu of flowers those so inclined may wish to donate to a charitable organisation of their choice. Pellows Funeral Directors FDANZ

Rest in Peace Russ . . . If only we could've meet a long, long,time ago & shared more stories together. Till we meet again mate . . .

Dear Faye & Alison, Very sorry to hear today, from John Gleeson of Russell's death last month.
I would have made the effort to have been there, as i had thought very much of Russ.
John & I had been friends of him, & shared in a lot of interests & I was always happy to listen to his many tales / life experiences.
He had a great spirit that I will always remember . . . He had sometimes spoke of his ailing health & joked of what his demise would be . . . He reminded me of both my parents, now both deceased.
They were both ex N.Z. uniform Police. Our Mother was well respected & also had Police staff show there respects at her funeral too.
Our father have many of Russ's traits & beliefs about the world, with a sense of humor that crossed many lines of communication.
I would genuinely say that I loved Russell ... More so of course as a favorite Uncle.
I had done some mechanical work for him at different times, & fondly recall of his wish to convert the ride-on John-Deer mower into a mobility scooter !
I also bought a older Audi s/w from him that he had hoped to have seen finished.
Both John & I had been involved in attempting to get it towards this end, but wasn't to be, though interest to complete this has been reignited since hearing of his death.

P.S. Russell had soft spot for my dog Rodoger... so this is him at a younger age.
