My parents Barry and Dawn Brayne were close friends of Gerry and Laurelee since school... my mother was deeply saddened when Laurelee passed away and my last catch up with Gerry was when he visited my Dad Barry just before he passed away... a great friend of the family and dearest friends to my parents... we just popped in to visit Gerry after our return to NZ to say gidday and wish him a Merry Christmas and tell a few stories... sadly too late... our condolences to all the family... a great guy... will be sadly missed

Deepest Condolences to the Leathem Family. I have many happy memories after working with Gerry in Auckland International Airports Apron Tower. After his retirement he used to ring me up at work to tell me that he was sitting on his deck in the sun enjoying a glass of red wine. He told me it was only one glass but it was a big one! Another story he told us that he was adopted out by his U.K. family, when the rest of his family noticed his absence at the table they were told that Gerry had been sold to New Zealand. We all got a laugh out of that one. R.I.P. Gerry it was a pleasure knowing and working with you. Murray Ellis.
