ARMSTRONG, Gerald (Gerry). Of Queensland formerly of Auckland and Coromandel. Passed away peacefully on 8 January 2023 aged 90 years. Dearly loved husband of Patricia (deceased) and treasured Father and Father-in-law of Mark and Donna, Craig and Simone, Paul and Leanne, Fiona and Jeff, Glenn and Cushla and Sean and Janie. Adored Gramps/Ga of his precious grandchildren and great grandchildren. A Service to celebrate Gerry's life will be held in Australia on Thursday 12 January 2023 at 11.00am. So sorry to hear of the passing of Gerry. We have many fond memories of Gerry on the bowling green, on the indoor mat where he exhibited real skill, and at other functions in Pauanui. He was a character who brought fun and laughter with his dry wit and when together with his mates in particular Andy and Vic there was no need to worry about any lapses in entertainment. But he could also be serious and determined when these qualities were required. We learnt very quickly never to question his love and knowledge of soccer and the merits that it had over the game played with an oval ball. A great and loyal buddy. Our thoughts and sympathies go out to his family and in particular Fiona.
